RESPONSES TO RACISM IN NAZI GERMANY AND JIM CROW AMERICA
Americans and Germans of various backgrounds responded to what they saw as similarities and differences between the racial policies in each other’s countries. In some cases, the existence of race-based laws abroad were used to justify the continued use of similar laws in Germany. In other cases, communities hoped that fighting racism abroad would help defeat it at home.
